"Currently there are upwards of 30 species in the genus Ulnaria, with a number yet to be described (Williams pers. comm.) or still identified as species of Fragilaria Lyngbye (1819: 182) (Lange-Bertalot & Ulrich 2014 named some obvious species of Ulnaria as Fragilaria).
